Silence of the (un)Wise men

"Silence is Golden"
Somehow, we were taught from young age, that silence is golden.
We are groomed to the idea that say nothing is preferable than speaking.
Esp. in Asian countries, to confront someone is considered a taboo.
It's rude to comment, to question and esp to oppose someone...
In some circumstances, this might be true...

If you know your friend is being bullied, would you stand for him/her?
If you know your neighbour is hiding a fugitive, would you report it?
If you happened to know a terrorist plan, would you tell police about it?

Many of us, wouldn't.
I have to admit that, once you step in, sometimes it'd be messy.
You might mean well, but you might end up in the bottom of the well.

But does it mean, that we should shut our eyes, close our ears, sealed our lips?
Remember:
"The world suffers a lot, not because of the violence of bad people,
but because of the silence of good people"

It's so easy to say:
As long the bully doesn't hurt me, I don't care
As long as the fugitive doesn't come to my place, I don't care
As long as the terrorist doesn't blow up my train station. I don't care... Let them blow airport, I don't take planes

"It's none of my business"
Is it, really?

Here is a cut of legendary comic for thoughts...

LiuBei vs CaoCao

Who would believe that a bloody story of wars-wars-and-wars in 14th century China would still be captivating, even for today.
Romance of Three Kingdoms is probably one of the literature staple for every Chinese beings at school.
I didn't have that chance, we don't have Chinese school here, rite?
Anyway, I know we are 3 years late, but the TV is playing the series now. It's cool!
So, my mom seems to favour Caocao (the antagonist) rather than LiuBei (the protagonist),
The reason is because LiuBei always-always-always reluctant to do things that it's not morally correct according to him.
Everytime he doesn't listen to his wise advisor-ZhugeLiang, he would always fail.
LiuBei somehow very dependant to ZhugeLiang. Without him, LiuBei's name would end in the first chapter of the story.
While Caocao, an ambitious man. He would do anything, everything, anyhow to achieve his goal.
Even if he need to kill innocent men, which he did casually.
Not that mom fond of a murderer. But she simply adores the strong and determined character of Caocao.
When both compared, of course Caocao seems to be more superior. Somehow all villain are superior than their hero. Don't you think?

I replied mom this way:
LiuBei is not stupid. He is smart in his own way. In today business world, LiuBei is a portray of a CEO
He might be weak, but he has 1 ultimate strength: he knows how to choose great people in his team.
He particularly choose people who are more skilful and capable than himself. But, he knows how to utilise them.
Even a brilliant ZhugeLiang faithfully defend him after LiuBei is long gone.

I regard CaoCao as a business owner. Someone who is capable of anything - in military strategy, in poetry, in arts... in everything.
He is a one-man-show person. Everything is centralised to 1 person, himself.
Yes, of course he is more capable than LiuBei, but he need to do everything himself; while LiuBei can just sit and delegates all the chores.

Here to read more about CEO vs Biz Owner
Who is better? It's very hard to judge.
Both have their strength and their own weakness.
But it would be unfair to say one is a complete idiot, cos none of them is

Hehehehe... I think I answered it wisely and cleverly.
I was impressed too. How in the world could I say such thing. Hahahaha

At the end of the story, none of them become the winner.
The one that have all the power is grandson of SimaYi - advisor of Caocao.
SimaYi is a very smart, cunning and yet very patient man, he planned and plotted his own path right from the start. By the time, he strike a coup d'etat, he is already an old frail man.
Fate churned everything into his descendant's plate.
Without much blood on his hands, the grandson became the emperor, ending the long battle of 3 kingdoms.
Now, that's what I call "Lucky You"

Behind Religious Curtain

this brilliant comic are taken from here
It's not a rare thing to see a headline where corruptors wearing religious attributes, quoting religious verses, and speaking as if he/she a martyr. Happens in any religion, without fail!
Borrowing God's name has become a compulsory formula when you got into deep shit; it's the golden rule when you have fingers pointing at you.
We all know they are all covered with lies, yet, as a compassionate human-being, we took a pity on them.
Nodding at the ridiculous excuses, twisting brain-wire to find a loophole to escape - let's be a bit lenient, everybody has made a mistake, right?; and at the end, you just forgive because you have fallen into their melancholic drama plot.

For a conduct to be right or wrong, it's not because how correct the particular action is.
It's determined by one's mind - the way we see it

For example...
It's politically correct for a soldier to kill an enemy
But it's not correct, when a stranger killed a member of your family (for whatever reason)

For US government to have Snowden in their custody is the correct thing - that rascal has leaked US dark dirty secrets. He need to be punished, or maybe wiping him out from this world would be a better option.
But for those who loathe US' bullcrap preaching on human-rights, Snowden is their hero! They'll be cheering for Snowden's escapes. God speed, Snowden!!!

It's all in your mind. Your own illusions.
There's no absolute correctness in this world
Tweak it a bit, and you'll find million ways to twist the so-called-truth

Let the time speaks, the truth will reveal itself.
God will protect me and punish you all for the injustices you've done me.
- stated by a proven corruptor

White Chicks

I really love this pic, I think Mrs.White looks like a very cool and elegant mom
Mrs. White finally hatched her own babies!!!
She successfully hatched 9 chicks out of 12 eggs
3 eggs are rotten (according to my staff: he shook the eggs and heard watery sound - meaning the eggs didn't develop)

The next night after they hatched, was raining so hard... and they didn't sheltered well, maybe due to the windy rain. The mother and chicks were soaking wet, and 1 chick died due to hypothermia (I supposed). But look at the bright side, 8 chicks survived. My Dad blow-dried each one of them (Dad, You are the best!).
I wasn't in town when the whole event happened :( I wish I was there to keep them safe and sound

Anyway, the 8 survivors can be classed into 3 types:
1. yellow chick with yellow feet + yellow beak
2. yellow chick with black feet + black beak
3. brown chick with black feet + black beak
Most of them have hairy legs too :) cute don't u think?

Since we don't really know Mr. & Mrs. White pedigree, it's quite understandable that these tiny chicks turned out to be colourful.

I let them play outside in the morning, just before the sun become fiercely hot.
And here are the pics when the mother teach them how to have sand-bath.
This time, I have to sacrifice my flower bed.... it now has big patches from digging the bath
PS:
My last post about Mrs. White eggs... The first clutch didn't survive. She had 3 still-born chicks, all died in half-opened shells. And the rest of the eggs are watery, meaning they failed to develop. She sat on them for nearly a month! Even her little comb looked pale.
I guess Mrs. White is a quick learner, she quickly regained her health and began laying more eggs, which are the cute tiny chicks we have today.

Btw, Mrs. Black has been laying some eggs too... abit much. She has laid 34 eggs non-stop and hasn't show that she gonna stop anytime soon. We have no clue why she laid so much. Is it normal at all?

Smoking Haze

Feels like my own shadow is constantly having BBQ, the smoke is following me, surrounding me, choking me.
Can't run, can't hide, it's everywhere I go.
Although, it might seems I am living in a fairy realms, somewhere in the cloud; except this one is toxic >.< Arghhhh...

I still don't understand why smokers voluntarily go inside a smoking chamber, aren't they gonna be suffocated in there?
Here, you got what you wished for, a giant smoking chamber.
Now we are all smokers.

Piglet in my arms

Sometime ago, I went to visit a pig farm. Yes, the pigs are raised for meat.
The farm is (dunno how big) but it is quite clean compare to what I always see on TV.
Basically, I always thought pig are dirty, sleepy, greedy and stupid

From what I see there, they are not dirty
They confined a mother-pig in a pen which has a area for babies (with light bulb as incubator)
Since the babies are very small, the space is quite spacious from them. They never pee and shit on their playground
They always do their dirty job somewhere in corner of the pen, somewhere furthest.
We all assume they are dirty cos we confined them in small area, they are forced to defecate at wherever they stand at; just like a human being locked up in a room unable to move around nor get out, won't you pee and shit in the room too?

Are they sleepy and greedy?
Well, they do have their nap time. Hehehhe...
About greediness, well, when you are locked up with 30 or 40 other people, and there's only a table of limited food. Won't you all hit the table?

And they are smart, I saw one trying to open up his own pen. And they know the way to their own room. They are smart animals.

I witnessed the births of some piglets, they are so fragile, beautiful and cute.
After a 3-months 3-weeks 3-days gestation period, a bunch of tiny piglets arrive in this world
Some will only live for a few weeks before turning into a roasted suckling pig
Some will live a few more months before arriving on your plate
Some will be preserved long after they are gone, in the form of jerky, sausage or bacon
Some will be allowed to reproduce for a couple of years, and still end up on your plate - yet, they are considered as lucky ones.

They don't slaughter them there. The owner sell them alive.
I know it may sounds odd, but the owner does care about the animals there.
The pig have access to clean water, not a puddle, but a systematised & filtered clean water system
The pigs are being showered 4x a day, floored scrubbed every after-meal, and a 24-hours worker to guard the delivering mothers.
I dunno if I should turn vegetarian, kinda feel lucky they dont have any slaughter unit there.

Kitty Purse

I made this little purse out of a DIY set I bought from Bear Mama DIY shop in Taiwan. Been keeping it for a year, always thought it's very hard to make.
But last week, the crafty bug bitten me again, and finally I braved myself to give it a try. Not too bad, right?
I wanna give it a try again, without the kit. Now the problem is, not all of the material are available in my humble hometown

Anyway, I put this "before" picture just to prove that I made this, by my hand. Hehhee... Cos I got some comments saying that it wont be possible that I made it. Here is the proof.

Nara's DIY diaper-cover

When I browse for free baby clothing pattern, this one really draws my attention. Seems so simple yet so cute. I whipped up 2 of them from my fabric stash. What do you think of it?
I made slight alteration from the pattern, I dunno if Nara's diaper is much larger or Nara's bum is just big; but it seems he needs more rear space.
